My lonely father has asked my fiancé and me to move in with him, but our lease continues until July 2008, so we are looking for a leaseholder! Our current rent is $605 a month plus utilities (which has averaged about 100 a month over the last six months), HOWEVER, the last month of the lease, July, will be FREE of rent. If you are a math person, this averages to $537 a month, a great deal for a clean, spacious apartment.

Apartment Description
There are two bedrooms, one 142 ft2, the other 104 ft2. The larger room is very comfortable with a queen bed, computer, and two dressers. I use the smaller room as my art space, but it would also easily be a good sized bedroom. The living room, carpeted, is 236 ft2. This is a spacious, cleverly designed floor plan with an open feeling because the kitchen is separated from the living area by a cute bar table, which can be used instead in lieu of a kitchen table. I love the look of this kitchen- all of the cabinets and counters are clean and look new, and dishwasher and garbage disposal are included. We also have a homey back patio, which is partially closed in.

Complex Description
The neighborhood is extremely quiet and well kept by the management. The basement has a huge (we feel so spoiled) lockable storage unit, which helps provide for an organized living space for those of us with many assets. The apartment has many amenities (ample parking, pool, big closets, laundry, and a club house). The complex is also pet friendly. I don’t have pets, but if I recall, it is ten dollars a month on top of a security deposit. I don’t have a floor plan, but I hope you get a good idea of the place by the pictures we included.

Restaurants, shopping, and employment are all within walking distance; Hy-vee and Whole Foods, a completely organic grocery store, are three and four blocks away. We are five minutes from 435 and I-35.

Random Additional Info
First of all, our contract with the complex states that any leaseholder must be approved by the office (they just do a credit check and make sure you actually have a job. They did each of ours in five minutes).

What we like so much about the apartment is the cabin or ski lodge-like feel. It is also very nice that there is one entrance shared by you and your upstairs neighbor, which makes it feel more like a duplex than an apartment building.

The complex is in the school district of Briarwood Elementary, Mission Valley Middle, and Shawnee Mission East High school. It is a safe, secure area.

If you looked at the pictures, you probably noticed the paint. We have painted our kitchen and living room vibrant colors. If you like this, great! It is a lively home, unlike any other apartment you would move into. However, the complex does want them repainted eventually, so we will do this when we leave if you don’t like the colors or if repainting would be too much trouble. If you choose to keep the colors and repaint it to boring white later, we would, of course, supply the paint.
